The Savior's reaction to aggression is to turn the additional cheek – not as an act of compliant endurance, but as a method to educate the assailant; his crime policy indicates that whenever a person pilfers your coat you must offer him your sweater also.
The obvious and clear truth that Christ from scripture advocates for a kind of radical love concentrated on the needy has perpetually caused Christian religion rather a provocative belief system: appealing to the masses, but because of its inherent radicalness demanding to be restrained.
